Flavors of Phoenicia

Ponderay, Idaho

Lebanese food,
made the long way.

Shawarma off the spit, kabobs over fire, mezze ground and rolled by hand — and a market shelf of the spices, oils and sweets that make it taste right at home.

Why Phoenicia

Named for the people who put Lebanon on the map.

The Phoenicians sailed out of Tyre, Sidon and Byblos — the coast that is Lebanon today — trading olive oil, wine and purple dye across the whole Mediterranean. The ship in the logo is theirs. The food is the same coastline, three thousand years on.

The other half of the room

A Lebanese market, not just a restaurant.

Behind the dining room is a full shelf of the things you cannot buy anywhere else in Bonner County: Najjar coffee, Ceylon and karak teas, Medjool dates, kataifi dough, halloumi and Bulgarian sheep's cheese, pomegranate molasses, apricot sheets, Turkish delight, and Lebanese olive oil by the litre or the gallon.
